I should add, after my post about Todd at Acme, that this video (the first that comes up when you google-video search him) is an example of why it was exciting that he kicked out rude, selfish people. If you don’t know much about the comedy show you’re seeing, wouldn’t you google the performer? And see this and think, “oh you know, I was planning on getting front row seats so he could see me text & ignore the show & distract everyone around me. Especially the guy everyone paid to see! But he might tear me a new one so I should just be a decent human being, shut up & let the professional do his job.” Also, he’s gotten really good at tearing people down without getting completely enraged or calling names, and brought really valid points to the rest of the audience to keep everyone on his side, and it was beautiful.
