I tried calling Centerpoint Energy to complain, but their office hours are closed.

Because it’s after 10:00 and it’s not a reasonable time for the gas company to be working.

So then I called 311 and they gave me a number, but didn’t mention that it was the emergency hotline.

The lady who answered my next call was starting to bitch at me for calling without arealemergency, and then shut up after I said, “well, I called the POLICE and they gave me this number.” I just wanted to be sure that there wasn’t a leak or something serious! She said, “well, it’s pretty late, so it must be important.” She’s right about at least half of that statement.

So much for going to bed early tonight.
